FINAL DECISION
DELETEME
By Rew
I can't make it go away
But I'm becoming my own best friend
Do you know
Do you know
Do you know
What keeps you up at night?
Do you know
Do you know
What tears you up inside?
I test every line I know
Just to erase what I have said, again
Do you know
Do you know
Do you know
What keeps me up at night?
Do you know
Do you know
What eats me up inside?
What tears you up inside?
What tears you up inside?
What tears you up inside?
Do you know
What tears you up inside?

for this verse id like to film close ups on a female body and long shots to represent the lonessome of the character as well as using a slower shutter speed when filming this as a sense of disorientation.

id also like to film, noir shots on the eyes and the mouth either chewing gum looking around and focus the detail on the iris and where the chracater looks, also using mist and fog as symbolism to a foggy mind
for this verse at the beginning of the intro i want to begin with a silhouette lighting and then cut out clips and the use of a slow shutter to start introducing the character and then blacking out the screen and putting a red or blue spot light on the character to make them the centre of attention and to put this image of how they shine the brightest when they are by themselves
For this verse id like to put in the character reading or writing in books or pages being ripped up and falling abve them again using slow shutter speed and the speed of the video being slowed and snippets being put inbetween like a flash and also using a digi cam to resemble the nostagia they feel and again with using the digi cam the sharpening is usually quite high and also focuses its point on the character
DELETEME
by REW
It seems to me that the song "DELETEME" is solely based on the idea of mental health and what its like to be alone as the songs semantics is solely based on the idea of loneliness and becoming your only friend hence the quote
"But I'm becoming my own best friend"

The feeling REW is experiencing is something he's experienced before, to the point its almost like your own feelings becpme this sadness. Moreover, he describes his journey with themselves as almost comforting as he quotes "bestfriend" almost solidifying and inbuilting this idea of his comfortability in his lonesomeness. As a result, all shots in my idea are focused on their constant presence.
OTHER LYRICAL DECISIOnS
HERE WITH ME
by d4vd
[Verse 1]
Watch the sun rise along the coast
As we're both getting old
I can't describe what I'm feeling
And all I know is we're going home
So please don't let me go
Don't let me go
[Chorus]
And if it's right, I don't care how long it takes
As long as I'm with you I've got a smile on my face
Save your tears, it'll be okay
All I know is you're here with me
[Verse 2]
Watch the sun rise as we're getting old, oh oh
I can't describe oh, oh
I wish I could live through every memory of you
Just one more time before you float off in the wind
And all the time we spent
Waiting for the light to take us in
Have been the greatest moments of my life
[Chorus]
I don't care how long it takes
As long as I'm with you I've got a smile on my face
Save your tears, it'll be okay
You're here with me
[Outro]
I can't describe
"watch the sun rise along the coast"
for this section of the verse, id like to film when the sun rises/sets.
First filming two or more people watching the sun rise then, using the 180 rule filming them and then adding closeups on each character throughout the verse.

in this verse, id like to film a female isolated in a bathtub huddled holding her knees upset, then another person opposite to them tucking their hair behind their ears and they begin to laugh.

OR

clips/snippets of old memories between the two characters such as going to a party, time at a super market, hanging at a skate park, eating junk food, watching netflix.

"i dont care how long it takes"
id like a repeat of these snippets:
-
going to a party
-
time at a super market
-
hanging at a skate park
-
eating junk food
-
watching Netflix.
-
Photo Booth picture
however, instead of them being happy, id like each scene to be juxtaposed and one or both characters end up sad or crying
untill the end of "You're here with me" id like to change the vibe completely and turn it back to happy
possibly using silhouette noir lighting when filming the 2 characters at the end charater 1 leans on character 2's shoulder
ending with fast unseen clippets when it ends in "i cant describe"
"watch the sun rise as we're getting old"
for this section of the verse, i'd like to film a repeat scence of the first for a short snippet, and then when
"i wish i could live through every memory of you"
starts, i'd like snippets of such things like:
-
going to a party
-
time at a super market
-
hanging at a skate park
-
eating junk food
-
watching Netflix.
-
Photo Booth pictures

HERE WITH ME FUTHER ANAlysis
by d4vd
It seems to me that the song "Here With Me" is about wanting to spend your life with someone you love - not always as a lover, but as a friend, and it also evokes youth or summer vacations. The reason I'd like to use this song is that I would like to incorporate a "free" hand style like Wong Kai War, and I think using this audio will offer a range of possibilities in comparison to other lyrics.
"I can't describe what I'm feeling"
"And all I know is we're going home"
"So please don't let me go"
"Don't let me go"

The feeling d4vd is experiencing is something he's never experienced before, so he's confused. Moreover, he describes his journey with this person as being at home because he feels deep affection for them. There is no place like home, where you can always feel deep affection, regardless of where you are. There's a sense that this person is home, and he doesn't want to let that slip away. It is of importance to him that his significant other does not let him go as well. As a result, all shots in my idea are focused on their constant presence.
BLONDIE
by Current Joys
id like to film how the protaginist in this is then surrounded by people and in the next line "i feel down"
id like to film the protaginist in an area where there is just grass and they are alone as most of the lyrics are juxtaposed in meaning.

"can we kiss?"
"can we dance?"
possibly filmed with people dancing and people making out in the background where the person is stood in the middle of it all and asking these rhetorical questions towards the camera and then ending in leaving.
[Verse 1]
There are flowers
In my heart
They're growing thorns
And it hurts
Every time
You're around
We break up
I feel down
[Verse 2]
And I won't
See you again
You're not a person
You're my friend
If we do
Just by chance
Can we kiss?
Can we dance?
"There are flowers"
- flowers symbolic to love
peace and beauty which is the juxtaposed by
"They're growing throrns and it hurts".
With the use of nature and the idea of "flowers" the initial idea is based on the theme of having a bright green almost similar to thius example of euphoria.

"and i wont see you again"
zooming out on the characdter who is poosibly in a main field standing up looking into the distances
"you're not a person"
"you're my friend"
possibly filming someone
zooming in on for example there hands clothes shoes and then "friend" zoomed out to show a full shot of their body.
THE PERFECT GIRL
by Current Joys
"id like to shake you around and around"
again using wong kar wai's film as inspiriration, id like to film close up shots on hands shaking the protaganist and then zooming out, then zooming close up on her head being shaken.

"i think im falling"
super sped up clips and the use of cut out clips.

[Verse]
You're such a strange girl
I think you come from another world
You're such a strange girl
I really don't understand a word
You're such a strange girl
I'd like to shake you around and around
You're such a strange girl
I'd like to turn you all upside down
You're such a strange girl
The way you look like you do
You're such a strange girl
I want to be with you
[Chorus]
I think I'm falling, I think I'm falling in
I think I'm falling in love with you, with you
I think I'm falling, I think I'm falling in
I think I'm falling in love with you
[Verse]
You're such a strange girl
I think you come from another world
You're such a strange girl
I really don't understand a word
You're such a strange girl
I'd like to shake you around and around
You're such a strange girl
I'd like to turn you all upside down
You're such a strange girl
The way you look like you do
You're such a strange girl
I want to be with you
You're such a strange girl
The way you look like you do
You're such a strange girl
I want to be with you
"You're such a perfect girl"
- idealism of the idea of being this perfect person which is juxtaposed by the fact she comes "from another world"
for this part of the verse id film at a low angle and use techniques simialr to wong kar wai's film by using perspectives and his use of colour and lens type.

"i want to be with you"
-close up shot on hands caressing the protagenist using a close up of them being held tightly. after the verse goes into intrumental id like to film the camera going around the protaganist and then having cut outs of zooming out on the character

"i'd like to turn you all upside down"
a mid shot that shows the protagonist is flipped upside down
and possibly the use of overlays

DISORDER
By Joy Division
"its getting faster.."
a reference to Ian Curtis' struggle with epilepsy. Flashing lights can trigger seizures.

for this shot id like to use lots of flashes and possibly coloured flashes.

"feeling"
super sped up clips and the use of cut out clips, again the use of flashing and possibly rotation of the video

[Verse 1]
I've been waiting for a guide
To come and take me by the hand
Could these sensations make me feel
The pleasures of a normal man?
Lose sensation, spare the insults
Leave them for another day
I've got the spirit, lose the feeling
Take the shock away
[Verse 2]
It's getting faster, moving faster now
It's getting out of hand
On the tenth floor, down the back stairs
Into no man's land
Lights are flashing, cars are crashing
Getting frequent now
I've got the spirit, lose the feeling
Let it out somehow
[Verse 3]
What means to you, what means to me
And we will meet again
I'm watching you, I'm watching her
I'll take no pity from your friends
Who is right, who can tell
And who gives a damn right now?
Until the spirit new sensation takes hold
Then you know
Until the spirit new sensation takes hold
Then you know
Until the spirit new sensation takes hold
Then you know
[Outro]
I've got the spirit, but lose the feeling
I've got the spirit, but lose the feeling
Feeling, feeling, feeling, feeling
Feeling, feeling, feelin
"i've been waiting for a guide"
for this part of the verse id film at a low angle and use techniques similar to wong kar wai's film by using perspectives and his use of colour and lens type, id also like the protagonist to try and light their cigarette for the first shot.

"i'm watching you, i'm watching her"
extreme close up shot on the eyes, then zooming out from the female protagonist.
