Evaluation

For my  evaluation, I’ve completely re-made each column and re-designed it as I felt that it looked unclean and messy. I decided to keep each writing in the same colour, red and added different fonts using the website DaFont, which in my opinion makes the website itself more aesthetically pleasing to the eye and more of a portfolio.

For my lyrical analysis, I found it quite difficult to pinpoint it to one song, I think when deciding next time, I to stay and commit to one song instead of thinking of other ideas so it makes it easier to subject to one idea and create brainstorms for only one but overall for my lyrical analysis, I am quite pleased as it gave me the option to change to a different song and gave me the freedom to experiment using the other songs.

For my storyboard and animation work, I am personally quite proud of them as it took the longest to draw and animate, as anything animated in my portfolio took about 10-15min each, however, I am pleased with its visual aesthetics.

For my actual film work, I found it quite difficult to use Adobe premiere pro for the first time as only the beginning of the music video took me 3 days to edit, however after experimenting with adobe premiere pro, it is now somewhat easier to use, but for future reference, I would like to have more work using adobe premiere pro.

What were your initial ideas that you  chose to explore in your portfolio and outcome and reasons why?

my initial ideas remain the same however the final out come  remained different as i had many ideas that i put towards the film such as the overlay animated text.

What were the theme/genre/ideas or filmmakers/animators  that inspired your work?

one film maker that truley inspired me was wong kar wai, he gave me the idea to incorporate colour into my music video.

What reaction did you want to present to your audience in your work? (what emotions do you hope it will cause and why?)

the reaction i wanted in my music video was something fairly grungey and somewhat a concern for their feelings. as the music video  lyrics state this state of loneliness

How best you want it to be viewed by the public? (Is this for viewing on TV monitor/phone/projection

i wanted it to be the best quality as well as assessable  to all, hence why i uploaded my video in HD

A brief description of how you think your work reflects on you as a working artist & filmmaker (do you think you are developing a particular style?)

taking inspo from wong kar wais film colouration, i think i have used quite a fair amount of the idea of colour as well as the idea of bad footage quality .

How much did your portfolio and film change through time during the project?

my portfolio remained the same, just  very indecisivce on what idea and concept i wanted however because of this i  had gained a lot of ideas and was set on what parts i wanted to keep.

How much reference material did you find for your Contextual info? Do you think you should have done more or less?

i think i couldve found more information, or more inspo on overlay writing as i felt like it seemed a bit juttery.

What materials, software, hardware, tools and techniques did you use and review when creating your portfolio?

i used adobe premier pro to edit my  music video as well as imovie.
