HORROR NARRATIVE EDITING NOTES

For the beginning of the editing sequence, I used a similar idea to most of my other film works, such as the music video and documentary. I used the idea of an animated handwritten text at the start of the film, In iMovie and overlayed the images to one second. There is a tutorial on how I did this under animation as well in depth on how I achieved this animated look. The next thing I did was speed up the ‘taped by gabrielle tuson’ and kept the ‘Oscar Hucker’ the same speed length

For the overlaying of the footage, I did not use any overlays, the camera already had the look I was wanting so I did not need any alterations of the footage. However, I have used the purple video I had previously filmed and overlayed it on top of another video and lowered the opacity.

The aspect ratio of the film was already altered via the digital camera. For most of my editing it was based on cutting of the videos and how long the sequences are, for most of my footage I had to cut the footage and shorten it to the right amount.

HORROR NARRATIVE EDITING NOTES : CURSED VIDEO EDITING

For the cursed video that appears, I use a mirroring effect in adobe premiere pro and only used that in the final horror narrative.

The sounds I used overlaying and was captured by the digital camera. I created these sounds myself using footsteps, as well as dropping stuff in the sink and the fall down the stairs

For the cursed video that I added at the end to create a scary dramatic effect, I kept the aspect ratio the same and overlayed handwritten animations 4 times on the screen and hide them it creates an effect as well as this I used images I had taken and added them in and overlayed repeated sounds for ones that did not have audio

For the noose scene I zoomed into it, so it had seemed more scarier than what the initial image was, as well as this I used two different pictures for the gate scene, one with a person and the next scene without anyone

For the next video sequence, I added more handwritten text on the screen and used the ‘dissolved’ effect on adobe premiere pro to create a blood like sequence. Another thing I added was a pop-up flash picture of the eyes overlaying the video as I wanted it to give a bit of a flash back, so I used flash when taking the picture.
